Iberdrola, a global leader in renewable energy, has announced a substantial increase in its investment plans for the UK, committing approximately £24 billion between 2024 and 2028. This ambitious plan, which more than doubles its previous investment, focuses heavily on enhancing the country’s transmission and distribution networks. With significant projects like the Eastern Green Link 1 subsea interconnection and the completion of the East Anglia 3 offshore wind farm, Iberdrola aims to bolster the UK’s green energy infrastructure, ensuring a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
Dave A. Roberts, Managing Director of VisNet, comments: “This is an extremely welcome development, which is a clear signal of the UK’s commitment to decarbonisation and the progress that has been made in the last 12 months”.
