VisNet Connect uses the network operator’s asset and network data to automatically assess available capacity, using EA Technology’s proprietary DEBUT loadflow engine. The loadflow assessments include capacity constraints, voltage level deviations, fault level calculations and other policy-driven engineering constraints.
VisNet Connect is primarily used for small low voltage (LV) connections of up to 100A per phase (23kVA single-phase or 69kVA three-phase). The tool supports up to 4 domestic premises or 1 larger commercial unit within this range.
Yes. Network operators can load customer-generated connection designs to review, amend, approve or redesign as necessary, with versioning of each iteration to maintain control.
Yes. VisNet Connect is designed to integrate with existing enterprise systems, with well-defined interfaces and APIs to link to existing data sources and workflows. VisNet Connect has been successfully integrated with enterprise data systems and portals from several major vendors.
VisNet Connect requires map data, ground type data, geospatial network data and engineering rules used by the network operator. We would be happy to discuss potential sources of data, and how we could bridge data shortfalls, with anyone wishing to deploy VisNet Connect.
Outputs are configurable to align with network operator standards and costing models. The BoM typically includes an itemised list with the cost of all of the components and conductors required for the proposed connection design, labour costs for excavation, installation and reinstatement, and any additional on-costs or overhead costs determined by the network operator.
Yes. VisNet Connect is highly configurable and applies engineering standards, design policies and regulatory rules to help ensure assessments and quotations align with network operator requirements.
Yes. The platform automatically saves design submissions, with versioning on modifications. This provides a full audit trail of submissions, including any rework and approvals, to support governance and regulatory reporting.
VisNet Connect is designed primarily as a self-service connections tool for network operators’ customers, and as such it has been optimised for ease of use. It can also be used by network operators and connection providers and has role-based access control so the different user groups can be configured to have access to different levels of data and functionality.
