Smarter LV network decisions start here
The VisNet® Hub is an innovative, award-winning LV monitoring system, providing unrivalled network visibility to support proactive fault detection and network management.
The cornerstone of our full-stack LV Network ecosystem
The Hub is the foundation of VisNet’s low voltage (LV) monitoring ecosystem. Installed in ground-mounted substations it is designed to give network operators immediate, scalable visibility of their LV networks to support operations, planning and asset management with data-driven decision making.
At its core, the VisNet Hub delivers robust, high-resolution monitoring straight out of the box. It captures essential electrical parameters including RMS voltage and current (per phase, including neutral), active, reactive and apparent power, total energy, total harmonic distortion (THD), as well as maximum and minimum voltage values over the displayed reporting period. With time series data typically recorded at 10 or 30-minute intervals, the Hub provides a reliable baseline of network performance.
The Hub’s functionality enables operators to move from reactive, assumption-based planning to evidence-led decision making. With clear visibility of voltage profiles, load behaviour, and phase imbalance. Amongst others, engineers can quickly identify emerging issues such as voltage violations, thermal constraints, or poor power quality, often before they impact customers.
Harnessing the power of our Low Voltage Common Application Platform (LV-CAP®) operating system, the Hub transforms grid-edge data into actionable insights. This is achieved through an expanding suite of applications, all seamlessly shown via our intuitive VisNet Detect Pro interface.
These grid-edge insights allow Network Operators to deal with immediate operational issues such as faults and pre-faults and their location, it also allows the user to anticipate future planning requirements and provides key asset health information for reinforcement or replacement strategies.
The Hub has an array of input/output connectivity options, whether for voltage and current sensors or third-party interfaces, thus providing a capability and flexibility that is rarely seen in this type of monitoring system.
In addition, it supports the ALVIN Reclose2 auto recloser as a plug-and-play device to further enhance your network monitoring and visibility capabilities.
This ground-breaking LV monitoring device was awarded the King’s Award for Enterprise 2024 in the Innovation category.

Find out more about the VisNet Apps
Why is LV monitoring and grid-edge intelligence important?
Low voltage networks are experiencing increasing demand from EV chargers, heat pumps, solar PV, and battery storage. LV monitoring and the additional grid-edge intelligence provided by the VisNet Apps supplies the real-time data required to manage this demand safely, avoid reinforcement where possible, and enable net zero ambitions.
A key part of this capability is the edge computing within the VisNet Hub. The device analyses high-speed electrical measurements locally to detect rapid changes in network behaviors such as emerging faults, pre-fault conditions or power quality disturbances that require fast sampling and processing. By performing this analysis at the edge, the system can identify which events and insights are most important and only transmit the relevant data to the cloud. This reduces unnecessary data traffic while ensuring that critical network events are captured and acted upon quickly.
For water utilities and industrial operators, this same visibility and intelligence strengthens operational resilience. By continuously monitoring power quality, loading, faults and pre-fault conditions, the VisNet Hub helps protect critical infrastructure, reduce unplanned downtime, safeguard process continuity, and ensure reliable operation of essential assets such as pumps, motors and treatment facilities.
