The VisNet® Temperature Sensor measures the thermal profile of critical components in an electrical substation.
The VisNet® temperature sensor is easy to fit, connecting magnetically to, typically, the outside of the transformer main tank and linking to the VisNet Hub via a 1-Wire interface and Local Integration App.
Tracking the thermal profile of the power transformer gives you vital insights into overloads and faulty power connections. Higher ambient conditions, coupled with high loading, cause the transformer to prematurely degrade from the inside-out. This can be measured simply as an increase in the external tank temperature, and visualised on VisNet Detect Pro, which supports both real-time temperature information and historical trend analysis.
Automatic alarms and notifications can be set to warn about potential problems before they happen.
